While the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) defines the language skills learners should achieve at the A1 level, it does not prescribe a fixed syllabus. At Abyaas, our curriculum has been carefully developed by analysing Goethe A1 examination patterns, studying widely recognised German language learning resources, including publications and materials from the Goethe-Institut, and incorporating practical classroom teaching experience.
The course gradually develops the grammar, vocabulary and communication skills required to confidently use German in everyday situations while preparing learners for the Goethe A1 examination.

Learning a language goes beyond attending classes. While our trainers provide 40 hours of structured live instruction, students are encouraged to spend an additional 70–80 hours practising vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing outside the classroom.
This combination of guided learning and independent practice helps learners build confidence and achieve the communication skills expected at the CEFR A1 level.
Additional guided practice sessions may be provided for learners who require extra support.
Regular practice between classes is one of the most important factors in successfully completing the German A1 level. Short daily practice sessions are generally more effective than studying for long hours once a week.
German A1 Certificate & Goethe A1 Exam
Completing the German Language A1 Course helps you build the language skills expected at the CEFR A1 level and prepares you for the next stage of your German learning journey. It is important to understand that completing a course and earning an official language certificate are two different things.
After completing the course, students who wish to obtain an internationally recognised certification can register for the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 examination or other recognised A1 proficiency examinations such as TELC, OSD offered by authorised examination providers.
